Jem emerged from the shower to find his harem asleep. He wasn’t exactly comfortable with the idea of a harem, but he had to call it what it was—he loved four women and they loved him.

Good thing the beds were so big. Crystal, Ruby, and Terri slept on one bed, while Elsie had retired to the bedroom with Dizzy. Those two had some kind of bond, but Jem couldn’t understand it. They teased each other like middle school mean girls while at the same time smiling at each other.

Terri had set the Yellowjacket on autopilot. The ship’s computer would stop them from flying into a random sun or bouncing off a planet. Nice thing about the space between solar systems—there was so much of it.

With all the women sleeping, Jem was left alone in the starship. He felt restless.

Since he had Terri’s phone with the updated app, he wanted to see if he could get access to the gaming system. He also wanted to learn more about the BrightStar universe.

He went to the cockpit and sat in the pilot’s seat, and realized he knew exactly what he wanted his new skill to be. He wanted to know how to fly the vessels in BrightStar—and not just fly. He needed military tactics for three-dimensional space battles. He probably wouldn’t get that skill with just a single upgrade.

With Terri’s phone, he went into the system and employed his ASI skill—Advanced Software Infiltration.

As he was going through the code, he saw something about the Temple of the Morning Sun. What did the BrightStar galaxy have to do with the temple on Paradeisos Island?

He found something under the description of the earliest explorers from Earth.
